The
Australian Sports Commission is now offering the "Beginning Coaching
General Principles" course on line. |
||||
| The course is initially being offered free of charge, only to those people with a valid Australian postal address. The course is subsidised by the Australian Sports Commission to encourage beginner coaches to undertake training. Learners are encouraged only to enrol if they are genuinely interested in completing the course. Learners will have six months from the date of registration to complete the course. | ||||

| Level 1
Coaching Principles The Level 1 course provides a basic guide to coaching and equips coaches with the expertise to coach at the beginner level. Course topics include communication, teaching and coaching methods, planning programs and sports safety. |

| Level 2
Coaching Principles The Level 2 Coaching Principles introduces the coach to sports science and its application to coaching. Topics covered include sports sciences (physiology, nutrition, psychology, biomechanics), sports medicine (injury prevention and management), legal responsibilities, people management skills, planning training programs and coaching methods. |
