Thank you for logging onto "martial arts & sport science".

I hope you find the information provided here both interesting and informative.
I've personally been involved in martial arts for over 20years.

I'm currently a 4th degree blackbelt in Zen Do Kai Martial Arts and a 5th degree trainer in BJC Muay Thai. I currently run my own Karate classes and Submission Wrestling classes and up until recently I taught Muay Thai and boxing for around 12 years.

Over the years I've also trained in traditional Karate, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Boxing and Kickboxing. When I'm not participating or teaching martial arts I'm working as a Strength & Conditioning coach and a personal trainer .

I'm registered with Fitness Australia as a Personal Trainer and I'm registered with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association and the Australian Couching Council as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

To keep these qualifications up to date and to further my education I've done courses in the following:

This website is designed so that I can publish articles relative to sports science and all forms of martial arts (Brazilian Jui Jitsu, Judo, Jui Jitsu, Submission Wrestling & other forms of Grappling. Boxing, Karate, Kickboxing, Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do & other forms of Striking. Pancrase, Pride, UFC, Vale Tudo & other forms of Mixed Martial arts).

As well as publishing articles on my website, I've been fortunate enough to have five of my articles from this web site published in "Strength and Conditioning Coach" the official magazine of the "Australian Strength and Conditioning Association". These articles are
1) The "stretch shortening cycle" in throwing and striking sports.
Volume 11 (1) 2003
2) The key ingredients.
Volume 11 (3) 2003
3) Fighting Fit.
Volume 12 (3) 2004
4) A balanced upper body routine.
Volume 13 (2) 2005
5) Grip Strength Training.
Volume 14 (3) 2006
I've also had many of my articles published/posted by other web sites.

I've included a "Links" & "Further Education" page so individuals can access books, information and correspondance courses which will help them in their pursuit of greater knowledge and in turn a greater understanding of martial arts.
